Apply for 2017 German Fully Funded International Scholarships at UDE for BSc & MSc Degrees

University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is pleased to offer UDE-Scholarships to pursue Bachelor and Master degree program for winter 2017/2018 and summer 2018. International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

The aim of the scholarship is to provide financial help to international students to study in Germany.

With over 43,000 students, the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is one of the ten largest in the Federal Republic. Their wide range of subjects ranges from the humanities, society and education sciences to economics, engineering, natural sciences, and medicine. Since its foundation in 2003, UDE has developed into a universally recognized research university.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue Bachelor and Master degree program.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to learn any of the courses offered by the university.

Scholarship Award: The UDE-Scholarship is part of the Deutschlandstipendium and awards excellent students studying at the University of Duisburg-Essen with 300 € per month for an entire academic year.

Scholarship can be taken in Germany

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
  • ·         All students who are properly enrolled at the University of Duisburg-Essen and are within their regular course duration
  • ·         Everyone who intends to study at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the winter semester 2016/17 beginning in October (matriculation status will be checked at the beginning of the semester – matriculation at the time of application is not necessary)
  • ·         Unfortunately, PhD students or students of degree courses liable to fees (e.g. Educational Media) cannot apply for a UDE-scholarship in general.

Nationality: International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

Entrance Requirements: All students who are properly enrolled at the University of Duisburg-Essen and are within their regular course duration.

English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

2017 Fully Funded International Scholarships at Near East University Turkey

Near East University Scholarships are open for international students to pursue postgraduate (Master and PhD) programme.

Near East University is a private university located in North Cyprus. It was founded in North Nicosia in 1988, by Suat Günsel, a Turkish Cypriot who is the 100% owner of NEU. The chairman of the board of trustees is his son, Irfan Günsel.

The University of Reading is a public university located in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. It was established in 1892 as University College, Reading and received its Royal Charter in 1926 from King George V. Eligible candidates will then be considered for nomination by their academic School / Department at Stage One. If you are successful in being nominated, you will receive a request on Wednesday 8 March 2017 asking you to complete a full Felix application form. This must be returned by Wednesday 15 March 2017.

Nominees will then be considered for shortlisting by the University level panel at the beginning of April. If you are shortlisted by the University, you will be notified. Candidates for the Indian awards will be asked by representatives of the Felix Trust to attend an interview in India during April/May 2017.

The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund aims to instigate a new form of support for sustainable water management in developing countries by financing on-the-spot internships for students from developing countries who are studying in Belgium.

Requirements

Students from developing countries who are studying for a master’s level degree (master’s, specialisation master’s or a second bachelor’s degree) that is linked to water management.
The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.


Scholarship Worth

  • The grant will cover the expenses inherent to the internship, up to a maximum of €5.000.
  • The internship, which should last 1 to 2 months, must take place between December 2016 and the end of August 2017.
  • Ten grants shall be awarded.

Selection criteria


  • Objective. The internship is linked to the access to water or its management in developing countries and must be clearly part of the subject of the candidate’s end of year project.
  • Pertinence. The work undertaken by the candidate at local level and the results that emanate from this deal with important local issues.
  • Capabilities. The budget requested must match the candidate’s needs. He/She must have sufficient resources to complete the internship under the required conditions.
  • Innovation. The approach that the candidate chooses for his/her internship or the framework within which he/she intends to work is different from the usual approaches or frameworks.

Ways to Get a Student Visa to Study in Belgium

Depending on your country of residence and also the length of your course, you would most definitely need a student visa to study in Belgium. This post is aimed at giving you guidelines to find out if you would need a student visa, it also covers how to apply for the visa, and the important documents that would be required from you.

Do You Need a Visa to Study in Belgium?

All Students residence in or from a European Union Member State or from a country in the European Economic Area (EEA) are not in any way required to obtain a student visa for them to study in Belgium. How to Apply for a Student visa to Study in Belgium

Before you even start applying for a student visa for Belgium, you must have been accepted onto a course at an accredited educational institution, and also paid the registration fees (this payment would be refunded if your visa application wasn't accepted). If you are reading this as an international student, you would need to contact the nearest Belgian embassy to you or consulate in your country. The embassy will then be able to help you determine if you need a student visa or not, and will also guide you through applying for the visa.

Student applicants from some countries may be required to make an appointment with their consulate in order to make their visa application. It is also in some case possible that some embassy may work with an external service provider who helps carry out most of the administration tasks – an additional service fee may  be charged in this case.

What are the visa requirements for Belgium?

To be considered for student visa for Belgium, you will need to provide the following documents:
  • A correctly filled, completed and signed visa application form (its best to hold more than one)
  • A traveling passport or similar travel document which is still valid for more than 12 months. In some countries the passport is required to be no more than 10 years old, and have two empty successive pages facing each other.
  • Proof that you have sufficient financial funds or support that would last for the duration of your stay. This funds must cover your accommodation costs, healthcare, living expenses, and study as well as the cost of your return ticket. This proof can also be in the form of a certificate stating you have received a scholarship or grant, a written and signed agreement of financial responsibility from your sponsor and also their bank statement, or your personal bank statement showing you have sufficient funds to sustain you during your stay in Belgium.
  • A medical certificate would also be required stating you don’t have any diseases that may endanger public health (infections such as Tuberculosis, and also diseases or infections that would require quarantine)
  • A police certificate showing you have a good conduct and also confirming that you don’t have any prior criminal convictions (if you are aged above 21). If you are residence in the US, you might probably need an FBI background check, which could sometimes take up to five months to get.
Also needed for your student visa requirements for Belgium is proof of your student status and your study plans. For this, you may need:
  • Proof of successful registration at a recognized higher education institution in Belgium (which should cover a full-time course of study, indicating that the candidate’s main aim in Belgium is just to study)
  • Application for an equivalence diploma certificate conferred abroad (this is required for French Community education)
  • Original and certified copy of your previous diploma, certificate obtained from your secondary level education, and also a certified copy of your academic record from your last year of secondary level education
  • Copy of any and all previously obtained diplomas and certificates since the end of your secondary level education
  • An employer’s statement stating the need for you to pursue higher education as part self improvement towards your work (this applies majorly to postgraduate students)
  • Documentation giving a short description of the courses you intend to take at your institution of choice, with a brief explanation comparing those courses to the ones organized in your country of residence
All supporting documents in a language different from English, French, German or Dutch have to be translated by a sworn translator, legalized as a separate document in your country of residence, and legalized again by the Belgian consulate or embassy in your country of residence. Your consulate or embassy could request for some other documents not mentioned in this article, depending on your country of residence.

You would also be required to provide a supporting letter explaining reasons behind your choice of course, why you intend to study in Belgium, and reasons why your choices will benefit you. You must also demonstrate that you have a good knowledge of the language you intend to study, by providing good proof of passing an internationally recognized language proficiency exam or a certificate issued at the end of education in your chosen language.

You can track the progress of your visa application using your reference number and also the location of your chosen consulate or embassy. The Belgian consulate considers visa applications on a case-by-case basis and has the final decision to accept or reject your visa application. You could appeal against this decision if your application got rejected.

If the embassy you submitted your visa application is unable to process your application for some reason, they could suggest you apply for a tourist visa, which is very much easy for them to issue. If this is your case, ensure they give you a written statement stating that they advised you to apply for a tourist visa instead of a student visa, this statement or supporting documents will allow you to be able to exchange your tourist visa for a student visa once you reach Belgium, and also allow you to register at your chosen higher education institution.

When you arrive in Belgium

All students (including those from the EU states) must take a quick visit to the local municipal administration within the first eight days of your arrival in Belgium. You will then be given a residence permit which would allow you to stay in Belgium and also enables you entrance to the Schengen States without a visa for a period not exceeding 3 months. You can always apply to renew your residence permit yearly, and this must be done early approximately 30 to 45 days before its expiry date.

Steps to Applying to Universities in Norway

University of Nordland – formerly Bodø University College

University of Nordland does not require any student to pay tuition fees. However, the Norwegian Government requires that prospective students residents outside the European Union (EU) should be able to provide a minimum amount of money that could cover living expenses for one academic year in Norway. The recent amount of money that would be required to be transferred to University of Nordland is NOK 92 500 for the academic year.

University of Bergen

TOEFL or IELTS are required if English is not your native language.

Tulane looks for a minimum of 90 on the TOEFL and 6.5 on the IELTS.
Tulane’s code for both tests is 6832.
If you achieve a 600+ on the SAT Verbal section or a 27+ on the ACT English section, we will waive TOEFL or IELTS.
While SAT or ACT are not required for non-US citizens, scores will be considered should you submit them.

The middle 50% of admitted students achieve 1950-2150 on the SAT or 30-33 on the ACT.
Tulane’s SAT code is 6832. Tulane’s ACT code is 1614.
It is recommended that you submit SAT or ACT scores if you wish to be considered for merit aid.

Admission and merit aid at Tulane are highly competitive.

You must submit SAT or ACT scores in order to be considered for the Dean’s Honor Scholarship, Paul Tulane Award, or Global Scholarship.

How to Apply:

Partial scholarships: Applicants will be automatically considered.

Full-Tuition scholarships: Deans’ Honor Scholarship- Submit a complete application for admission.
Submit the separate scholarship application and recommendation form to DHS-at-tulane.edu or, if necessary by traditional mail; Paul Tulane Award- Submit a complete application for admission. Submit the separate scholarship application to PaulTulaneAward-at-tulane.edu.

Apply For 2016 IEEE Engineering Scholarships For Undergraduates in South America

The IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) is awarding scholarships for qualified and interested undergraduate electrical engineering students in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Scholarships are mainly awarded to qualified applicants to pursue careers in power and energy engineering.

The main aim and goals of the IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative is to encourage talented undergraduate students to pursue careers in power and energy engineering.

The IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), formerly known as IEEE Power Engineering Society, happens to be the oldest society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is has its main goal and focused on the scientific and engineering knowledge about electric power and energy.

Interested applicants need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Course Level: Scholarships awards are available for a full-time undergraduate course at a university or college in the USA, Puerto Rico or Canada.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to pursue careers in power and energy engineering.

Scholarship Award: Scholarship recipients will receive the following amounts during the duration of their undergraduate program:
  • US$2,000 for each of the first two years
  • US$3,000 for the third year

Eligibility: 
Applicants must meet the following guidelines
  • A citizen or permanent resident in USA, Puerto Rico or Canada
  • A full-time student at a university or college in the USA, Puerto Rico or Canada
  • Working towards an Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree
  • Willing to take at least 3 Power Engineering courses, totaling 9 credits or more
  • A student with a GPA 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale
  • Willing to consider a career in electric power and energy engineering
Eligible Countries: Students from U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico can apply for these scholarships.

Entrance Requirement: Applicant must have GPA 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.

Female Entrepreneurs in Nigeria Scholarships sponsored by The World Bank for Female Entrepreneurs to learn at the Enterprise Development Centre application is now available online for qualified and interested female applicants.

The Enterprise Development Centre, Pan- Atlantic University in collaboration with The World Bank will

  • Provide practical Business Education through a blended learning approach (online and in- class training)
  • Helps to strengthen Female Entrepreneurs network
  • Offer Mentoring

Selection criteria will be as follows:

  • The company must be owned or managed by a woman to be eligible 
  • The business must be functional (at least 6 months in operation)
  • The Enterprise must be one that have a high growth potential
  • High local content will be an advantage

Apply For Ulm University Degree Scholarships for International Students in Germany

Ulm University is awarding degree scholarships which is available for all international students. This scholarships awards support students already taking a course at Ulm University, who are almost finishing there course and are close to graduation and in need of financial aid. This scholarship award is awarded once for a period of up to one semester and amounts to 300 EUR per month.

‣ The Ulm University (German: Universität Ulm) is a public university in the city of Ulm, in the South German state of Baden-Württemberg.
‣  It is chronologically the ninth in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The first ideas of founding a university in Ulm go back to the 50’s. In 1959, the research group “University of Ulm” was formed, which produced a memorandum on founding a university in March of 1961. Due to competition between the cities of Constance and Ulm in the early stages, the idea of establishing a university in each of the two cities gained popularity. A critical factor leading to this decision was the fact that Constance is situated near a federal border. The opportunities for employment in the field of medicine would not be sufficient due to the lack of a patient catchment area at the border. The idea of founding a university in Ulm therefore became more concrete – it would be a university shaped by medicine and natural sciences.
‣ In July of 1965, the foundation committee submitted its “Memorandum on a College of Medicine and Natural Sciences in Ulm,” which was approved by the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg’s council of ministers in January 1966. Just two months later, the “Interim Constitution of the Ulm College of Medicine and Natural Sciences” came into effect.
‣ The scholarships are only awarded to students who have registered their thesis and are financially needy.
‣ The scholarships support foreign students at Ulm University, who are nearing graduation and in need through no fault of their own.
